P179
A Pair of Flintlock Pistols By Bunney, London. They have brass cannon barrels, brass frames engraved with acanthus leaf decorations with banners inscribed with "Bunney" and 'London". The iron trigger guards are engraved with a diamond shaped device, the slab sided, walnut stocks are mounted with oval silver escutcheons inscribed with the initials "NM". The escutcheons and the barrel tangs are bordered with silver wire decoration. Both pistols are in excellent condition showing very little wear, one pistol has a replacement top jaw and the other has some corrosion where the barrel screws into the frame, this will clean off. These pistols are very attractive looking and are in excellent working order. They have 5 1/4" barrels, 12" overall length, circa 1765.
$6,500, the pair |
