P119
A Colt 1861 .36 cal. Navy Model Revolver. This pistol is very unusual because it does not have any serial numbers at all. They have not been removed, they have just never been there. It also does not have any of Colts names or patent dates anywhere on the gun. These unmarked Colts are sometimes refered to as “lunch box specials” but Nathan Swayze in his book on Navy Colts states that some runs of unmarked guns were made. This example has a pleasing dark patina overall, the brass backstrap and triggerguard have no silver plating left but are in very good condition, the grips are in very good condition with a little original varnish still showing. Very good working order and condition.
