A FLATTENED HORN POWDER FLASK FOR A WHEELOCK PISTOL. This flask has an iron 3 socket spanner attached to its side, This is for spanning the Wheelock mechanism. The horn is fluted on its edges and the wide end is blocked by a walnut plug. The pouring end is intricately turned and is very attractive, it has a simple wood plug as a stopper. This item is in excellent condition with a lovely age patina and no splits or breaks breaks, 9 ½” overall length, circa 1650, probably English.
