M107
A Very Early Tinder Lighter In The Form Of A Flintlock Pistol. The brass barrel is inscribed Antonio Chogi, inside a panel of folliage, the full stock is of rootwood and has a lovely age patina and is mounted with brass furniture including, an engraved trigger-guard with acanthus leaf finial, an engraved buttcap and a lovely, engraved sideplate. A button on the barrel tang opens the barrel to reveal a spring loaded candle holder. The action is at fault because the main spring does not bear on the tumbler toe correctly. 4 1/2" barrel, 9" overall length, condition is a little worn, Circa 1720.
